Showcase: Luftwaffe Me 109 bomb switch box ZSK244

Hi there!
Thank you all for your feedback regarding what type of Showcase items you would like to see and. I have also received some photos that I am allowed to show to you in the near future. Thank you all for that!
The result of the voting poll is pretty evenly distributed, but I think so far the winner is "Aircraft Parts", then "Photos", "Control Sticks", and "Flight Gear & Equipment". I think the previous showcase items fit to the categories flight gear and aircraft parts. So, I'll have to come up with some control stick photos soon and I will. But today, I am back with an exciting and rare aircraft part:

Me 109 bomb control switch box auxiliary panel

It was attached to the main instrument panel of a Me 109 G. The ZSK244 was used to select the amount of charge that the battery in the Zuenderbatteriekasten delivers to the igniter in the bomb. Depending on the duration and amount the bombs ignited instantaneously on touching the target or with a small delay.

There were 4 indicators for four 50kg or one large 500kg bomb (the uppermost indicator). Underneath the indicators was the circuit breaker switch for the whole bomb system. And to the far right were the switches for the Werfergranate 21 system (the rockets some Me 109 carried underneath their wings). So, a really rare piece!

I got the permission to show these photos to you from "wasabogoa" (thank you!) who offers this rare item here.

If you have similar items in your collection (flight gear, aircraft parts, Luftwaffe photos, etc.) which you would like to show to other collectors, please contact me via LWCollector@gmail.com.
Enjoy!

Showcase: Luftwaffe Revi C12/C

Hi there!
I am back with yet another Showcase item! This time it is a very rare Revi C12/C gunsight, the predecessor of the Revi C12/D used in many Luftwaffe aircraft during the war. The only difference to the Revi C12/D was probably the optics which was improved in the D type. C12/C have been reported to be used in early Me 109, Henschel Hs 129 (without cushion), Me 110 and other early pre-war and early war Luftwaffe aircraft.

If you have similar items in your collection (flight gear, aircraft parts, Luftwaffe photos, etc.) which you would like to show to other collectors, please contact me via LWCollector@gmail.com.
Enjoy!

Showcase: Luftwaffe gunsight Revi 16D

Hi there!
And the second Showcase item of today:

Luftwaffe gunsight Revi 16D

And it is not only for your eyes, you can become the owner of this rare piece: I offer it for trade against anything Me 262, Ar 234, or He 162 related (control stick, gunsight, photos, documents, flight log, etc.). Please contact me via LWCollector@gmail.com if you are interested!

The Revi 16D was produced in small numbers only. It was to be used together for armament with a low (i.e. quickly dropping) trajectory (guns and bombs). The angle of the reflector glass could be adjusted depending on speed, armament and angle of attack and thereby the reticle moved up- or downwards. For dropping bombs, it was a compromise between the standard Revi 16B and the much more accurate but also heavier Lotfe, BZA or TSA bombing equipment. It is reportet to have been used in at least the Me 262, the Ju 88 G nightfighter (a Ju 88 G that by mistake landed in the UK after a mission had this gunsight installed) and the Do 335.

For the Me 262 this gunsight was a gap filler until the installation of better equipment (Lotfe, TSA, etc.) had been developed and tested. It was probably used only in small numbers in some KG 51 machines (there exist a photo of a KG51 Me 262 cockpit that has the Revi 16D installed). Some Messerschmitt documents and also the AG-list for the Me 262 mentions the use of the Revi 16D in the Me 262.

If you know other aircraft types where it was installed or intended to be installed, please let me (us) know.

Enjoy!

Showcase: Me 109 Blind Flying Panel

Hi there!
I am back with a new showcase item:

Showcase: Me 109 Blind Flying Panel

As explained in previous Showcase posts, the idea is to show exceptional items from my and other personal collection. This time it is an original Messerschmitt Me 109 blind flying panel (Blindflugtafel) owned by Michael Fuller. I am very grateful that he let me show this item to you on my blog. If you have similar items (also extraordinary photos you don't mind to share with others) please contact me: LWCollector@gmail.com. But back to the blind flying panel: only the lower part with the air speed indicator Fl 22334 (900 km/h Fahrtmesser) and altimeter Fl 22320 or Fl 22322 is left. A rare and excellent item! It Enjoy! Aircraft instruments are a quite different topic from aircraft photos and flight gear. Therefore, I have continued to update my second blog

where you will find the same showcase item and other updates like cockpit photos. You will find posts in 4 categories: 1) Instruments, 2) Cockpit, 3) Showcase, 4) Articles. So, if you are interested in instruments and cockpits as well, please check my other blog as well from time to time.
